Il porticciolo di Portovenere è racchiuso tra due moletti a gomito, lunghi rispettivamente 160 m (molo Dondero) e 80 m (molo Olivo) che, convergendo, lasciano un varco di 50 m, orientato verso E. Il molo Doria e la calata Doria sono destinati all’ormeggio ed alla sosta dei mezzi nautici locali del sevizio pubblico per trasporto passeggeri.
