The port is located at the mouth of the Tevere, on the right side and is formed by two basins separated by a strip of land. Both basins are protected by breakwaters parallel to the coast.
The mouth of the Rio Martino, at the mouth of the lakes Fogliano and Monaci, constitutes a marina. Two moles reported by regular lights protect the access. The seabed at the mouth are subject to continuous variations. The entry/exit from the harbour is granted only to vessels with a draft not exceeding 0,80 m only with good weather conditions.
The harbour consists of two breakwaters moles, one southern and the other eastern, and of a pier with three arms. Inside it is almost entirely quayed, there are 3 moles of which only one intended for pleasure, and 2 docks located at NW and at NE of the port, reserved to pleasure boats, fishing units and military units. The first dock is the darsena Pamphili, which is situated in the part NE. The stretch of the quay starting from the head of the pier up to 42 m is intended for the mooring of units of the armed forces and the police. The second dock is reserved for small units for professional fishing of the residents of Anzio.
The dock is located at the mouth of the channel Santa Anastasia, about 3.7 NM to NE of the port of Terracina. The mouth is wide 10 – 15 m. It is a point of mooring exclusively for small boats with little draft. Along the banks of the right and left, there are some wharfs for the mooring of small units.
The channel harbour of Terracina is located inside the channel Pio VI, which has both sides quayed. It is protected to S from the Gregorian pier, along 400 m, of which 180 m quayed and to N from a hairpin quayed breakwater dock. The latter one, with the shore and another inside pier, defines the dock of Levante, which is accessible entering immediately to starboard. In its interior, floating pontoons are positioned parallel to the quays of the protection moles. Another dock, Vecchia Darsena, is located more inside: it is accessible from the left bank of the port channel; in it, there are two small slipways.
The port named Odescalchi port of Santa Marinella, it is mainly touristic. It consists of a breakwater parallel to the coast, quay internally and reef breakwater externally perpendicular to the coast. Inside are two long jetties about 170 m arranged in a comb.
